You update / modify the client app on the TS just once, and everyone's accessing the same thing and is up to date. You could put each app on a separate Windows Server, then have a 5th Windows Server that's set up as a Terminal Server (RDS), with the 'client' components installed on it. You're trying to isolate the app servers from each other, and the client apps from the workstations. 50 Users access these software packages - oh, and you're licensed for 50, this isn't a license cheat. You want each app to have its own separate server (a VM), and you want to avoid installing and maintaining the client apps on all the workstations. Let's say that you have 4 core software packages that have a server/client app setup. Or if anything else I'm not thinking of, frankly. So I'm trying to figure out if there's any difference in MS licensing between 2 different architectures.
